Our research is organised into five themes reflecting common interests. Over 30 research groups provide targeted research and support for our PhD students and post-doctoral researchers.

Industrial liaison
The Department has a long tradition of successful relations with industry, with collaborations including research projects, supervision of undergraduate and MSc projects, industrial placements and student sponsorship.
